Reflections on mind mapping

Thank you for the introduction to this new tool. As I said before I have used concept maps for brainstorming sessions, pre assessment and exit cards. This particular application would be too difficult in my own context however tools such as spiderscribe(online) and kidspiration are student friendly and helpful for grade 3 students.

With the varying reading and writing needs in any given class I feel the use of these kinds of tools will help make classroom activities accessible to all students. After participating this week and reflecting on grade 3 students and the needs in my class for next year I will try to use tools such as these more frequently as they will promote collaboration between peers and motivate reluctant writers to become active participants.
